The Office of State Fleet Management, under the purview of the Motor Vehicle Management Act as established in SC Code of Laws code 1976 § 1-11-220, is responsible for centralized oversight of a comprehensive statewide fleet management program of all state-owned fleet vehicles for the state of South Carolina as a part of the Division of State Agency Shared Services within the Department of Administration.

In accordance with the mission of the agency to “Lead to identify efficiencies. Collaborate to provide services to enhance security and trust. Innovate to increase effectiveness,” the office provides policy guidance for use and efficiency of state-owned fleet vehicles. It also addresses the acquisition, assignment, identification, replacement, disposal, maintenance and operation of state-owned fleet vehicles.
