Supervises personnel involved in the operation of computer equipment; serves as operations manager of a small electronic data processing installation or as assistant manager in a larger, more complex data processing environment.
Supervises and participates in the operation of computers and auxiliary equipment. Trains new personnel in data processing procedures and the proper operation of equipment. Plans work assignments for staff. Establishes procedures for systems operations to ensure the accurate processing of data. Establishes and maintains after-hours on-call trouble log; coordinates the review and resolution of all after-hours operational problems.
Knowledge of computer operations and support activities. Knowledge of computer equipment. Knowledge of data processing procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with operators and end customers. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to coordinate and schedule the work of others.
A high school diploma and experience in computer operations or a related field.
