Examples of Work

Writes, codes, tests and debugs simple to moderately complex computer instructions and programs. Prepares flowcharts and block diagrams to implement or illustrate programs or procedures. Modifies existing programs or develops new programs which are simple or moderately complex. Assists in the preparation of user documentation, including user manuals. Interacts with users and data processing personnel to assure programs meet user's needs and are understood by users.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the capabilities, programming techniques and intricacies of computers. Ability to write computer programs. Ability to understand and carry out technical instructions and requests. Ability to analyze and reduce to logical order complex technical data. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma and experience in a related field. An associate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
