South Carolina Offers Veterans’ Virtual Career Fair Nov. 9

There are more than 2,000 career opportunities with the state of South Carolina, and Thursday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Veteran job seekers can meet virtually with recruiters from more than 30 state agencies with openings at the Veterans’ Virtual Career Fair, hosted by the South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs (SCDVA) and South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin). 

The virtual career fair, the fourth dedicated to Veterans, provides an opportunity to explore career opportunities with more than 30 state agencies and institutions of higher education.

State Surplus Real Property List

Right sizing the state’s real estate portfolio remains an ongoing goal for the South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin), which works to sell state property assets. Based on recommendations from the December 2015 Comprehensive Real Property Evaluation, Strategic Planning and Implementation Report, Admin works with other agencies to identify properties that can be repurposed or sold, allowing agencies to utilize modern space standards and facilities that best meet their needs.

Updated Analysis on the Cost and Benefits of Maintaining or Selling Aircraft Owned by the SC Aeronautics Commission

In a March 5, 2021, letter, Governor McMaster directed the South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin), in consultation with the Aeronautics Commission, to “conduct an up-to-date analysis on the cost and benefits of maintaining or selling aircraft owned by state agencies and institutions of higher education.” The Budget and Control Board, the predecessor agency to Admin, completed the last aeronautics study in January 2014 as directed by Proviso 117.130 of the FY2013-14 Appropriations Act.

Update to the Statewide Strategic IT Plan

The South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin) published the 2022 update to the Statewide Strategic Information Technology Plan. This comprehensive plan, developed as part of a collaborative effort among agency and information technology (IT) leaders throughout the state, helps set the course for achieving the major goals and initiatives in this area, while highlighting key accomplishments that have occurred since the last plan update in 2018.
