Construction and Planning
Construction and Planning is a revenue based unit of General Services. The mission of Construction and Planning is to provide governmental entities with a staff of design and construction professionals who are expert at managing the planning and execution of state permanent improvement projects. Construction and Planning also routinely manages projects below the PIP level, and for many non-PIP projects provides design as well as management. The Construction and Planning staff deals constantly with issues of compliance with the SC Consolidated Procurement Code, the Manual for Planning and Execution of State Permanent Improvements, the Standard Building Code as adopted by the State of South Carolina, and the SC State Fire Marshall's regulations. Construction and Planning staff members also have expertise in interpreting and applying the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
