Division of Technology

The Division of Technology is an operating unit under the Department of Administration, tasked with helping to facilitate the delivery of technology, security and privacy-related services and solutions to governmental entities throughout the state. The Division of Technology includes the following Divisions/Offices:

Division News

  • Newly Released Statewide End-User Computing Devices Standard
    The South Carolina Department of Administration recently released the first information technology (IT) standard for the statewide IT Shared Services initiative. This end-user computing device standard provides agencies with a set of common traits, characteristics and specifications for devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Creating a common set of standards for end-user computing devices is expected to produce a wide range of benefits for the state as well as for individual agencies. View the Standard
     
  • Information Security and Privacy Standards Released
    The Division of Information Security (DIS) and the Enterprise Privacy Office (EPO) have released version 1.5 of the standards for compliance with InfoSec and privacy policies. These standards provide additional guidance and clarification for implementation of previously published policies; an updated tool for performing gap analysis, implementation planning, and tracking of implementation progress; as well as a new matrix mapping FedRAMP cloud services to these standards. View the Standard
     
  • Beware of Disaster Scams
    The SC Department of Consumer Affairs has published a brochure, titled “Beware of Disaster Scams,” that is designed to help make you aware of some of the potential scams that could take place as a result of the recent flooding across South Carolina. View the Brochure
